**Detection range: up to 20 km. Stated engagement range: up to 10 km. Stated efficiency: up to 95%.**
QUBBA is a laser-based air defense system designed to protect cities, military installations, industrial facilities, power plants, transport hubs, and other strategically important infrastructure. The system integrates aerial threat detection, target tracking, and directed-energy laser countermeasures. The unit is designed to counter drones and certain types of missile threats at distances of up to **10 kilometers**. Target detection at ranges of up to **20 kilometers** allows for early warning and preparation for defensive action.
**Rapid response. No need to reload missile ammunition.**
Laser engagement does not require the launch of a dedicated interceptor missile. The beam travels at the speed of light, ensuring minimal delay in delivering energy to the tracked target. The time required to neutralize a target depends on the duration of the laser exposure.
The absence of expendable missiles reduces reliance on ammunition supplies and time-consuming reloading operations. The system’s continued operation is limited only by available power, cooling capacity, and its technical condition.
**A new approach to the cost of air defense**
Missile interception consumes ammunition with every launch, whereas laser countermeasures utilize electrical energy. This principle helps lower the cost of repeated engagements and preserves expensive missiles for tasks that specifically require missile-based defense.
QUBBA is intended to bolster the air defense of a protected area and reduce the strain on other air defense assets during repeated attacks.
**Omnidirectional coverage and operator control**
The spherical unit is capable of 360° rotation and 180° vertical movement. The system features automatic tracking of aerial targets, with an option for manual operator control.
Designed for rooftop installation, it allows existing buildings to be utilized for distributed site protection. The main power supply and battery units are housed outside the spherical enclosure, ensuring separate access for maintenance.
**Backup autonomy: up to 10 hours**
A backup power supply is provided for use in the event of an external power failure. The system offers up to **10 hours** of autonomous operation; the duration during active laser engagement depends on the operational load.
