DEFVORA / Editorial policy

Editorial policy

DEFVORA publishes analysis of publicly documented developments in UAVs, unmanned systems, aerospace and the related defense industry. This page explains how articles are prepared and labelled.

Byline

Articles carry the byline “DEFVORA Editorial”, the editorial function of DEFVORA. A person is named only when that person wrote or edited the article. DEFVORA does not invent authors, experts, interviews or quotes.

Sources

Articles are based on public sources: official releases, government and regulatory publications, research institutions and specialist publications. Every article lists its sources and links its key statements to them.

Labels

Statements are labelled by what the evidence supports. “Confirmed” means at least two independent sources report it, neither of them the company or organisation making the claim, and no source contradicts it. Outlets of the same owner, and copies of one release, count as one source. “Issuer claim” means the company, government body or organisation concerned says so and fewer than two independent sources confirm it. Where sources disagree, the article shows each side. Estimates and prototypes are labelled as such. Statements that could not be verified are left out or their uncertainty is stated.

AI assistance

Drafts may be prepared with AI assistance. An article prepared with AI assistance says so on the page, and every article says whether an editor reviewed that version before publication.

Images

Photographs carry their credit and licence. Illustrations are labelled as illustrations and are never presented as photographs of the subject.

Corrections

Updates, corrections and clarifications are dated at the top of the article. An article that cannot stand is withdrawn with a notice.
